Your physician contract base salary is not everything.  Especially a starting salary that may only last a year or two.

What Are Physician Salaries?

Ok, but if salaries are not everything, and can completely distract you from the big picture of whether you are making a mistake in taking a particular position, what are typical salaries?

Neurosurgeon Salary

Salary of $500,000 or greater to start (MedAccord has represented up to $750,000+ starting). 

Income of nearly $1M as a partner, often far more (we've worked opposite practices in which owners earned more than $1.5 Million/year.)

Expect complicated organizational politics; our experience with these nuances is our strength.

Cardio-Thoracic Surgeon Salary

Salary of $450,000 or above to start.  Income of $550,000 as a partner, and often larger (MedAccord has worked opposite practices in which owners earned compensation of more than $1 Million/year). 

Knowing the physician contract details... again our business.  We study and negotiate salaries... call schedules... and much more.

Orthopedic Surgeon Salary

Salary of $400,000 or better to start, depending upon subspecialization (MedAccord has represented up to nearly $700,000). 

Income of $700,000 or far better as a partner, depending upon subspecialization (we have worked in situations with compensation potential over $1 Million). 

Retinal Ophthalmologist Salary

Salary of $400,000, or exceeding, to start.  Income of $500,000 or higher as a partner, often dramatically more. 

Expect an expensive buy-in.  MedAccord negotiates many physician contract details... salary and buy-ins among them.

Radiologist Salary

Salary of $450,000, and up, to start, and at least $600,000 in compensation as a partner, often greater.

Expect long hours and call... high turn over... politics with the hospital.  MedAccord negotiates many physician contract factors.

Cardiologist Salary

MedAccord has noted dramatic ranges in mature practices, from $500,000 to nearly $3 Million in compensation. 

Expect group politics, audits, and complicated decisions.

Anesthesiologist Salary

MedAccord has placed clients from Johns Hopkins faculty to top private practices. 

Salaries depend on where you go and the conditions.  Expect more for pain management.   Also expect group turbulence and long hours.

Gastroenterologist Salary

Salary of $375,000 or higher to start.  Income of $500,000 as a partner, possibly higher compensation.

Radiation Oncologist Salary

Salary of $375,000 and higher to start.  Partners earn far more, and in successful practices, over $1 Million/year.

Urologist Salary

Salary of $300,000 to start.  Income of $400,000 as a partner, even more generous depending on the location.
